My Approach

Anita Bamert

BPsych (Hons.), MPsych (Clinical)
Clinical Psychologist

I completed my Masters degree of Clinical Psychology at The University of Queensland. I have worked across community health, non-government organisations (including Cancer Council Qld), public and private health, and private practice.

I have experience in treating individuals across the life span with a range of psychological difficulties, using evidence-based treatments. I have a particular interest in assisting patients with mental health concerns in the context of physical health conditions, grief and loss, and adjustment issues. I find great purpose in reducing distress and helping people to revise their life values in order to enhance emotional health, improve relationships and achieve their potential.

I view therapy as a collaborate partnership in which I seek to work at your optimum level; in a compassionate but challenging way, to help you achieve your goals.

I aim for meaningful change that continues after the therapy ends.

I use a range of evidence-based practices including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion focused psychology and mindfulness-based approaches.
